(RTTNews) -  RBC Bearings Inc. (ROLL: News, Chart, Quote ) reported first quarter net income of $10.6 million or $0.49 per share, compared to $9.8 million or $0.45 per share for the same quarter last year.

Adjusted net income for the quarter was $11.2 million or $0.52 per share, compared to $9.8 million or $0.45 per share in the comparable quarter last year.

On average, 7 analysts polled by First Call/ Thomson Financial expected the company to report earnings of $0.52 per share for the first quarter.

Net sales for the quarter increased 15.7% to $92.4 million from $79.8 million for the comparable quarter. Analysts expected the company to report revenues of $90.94 million.

Looking ahead to the second quarter the company expects net sales in the range of $95.0 million - $97.0 million. Analysts expect the company to report sales of $89.15 million.
